Dog-friendly beaches in Cornwall

Fistral Beach

Dog-friendly year round.

Fistral Beach is famous for its impressive waves – so much so that it's known as the surfing capital of the UK.

You don't need to surf to make the most of it, though. Blessed with golden sands and framed by tall, scenic cliffs, Fistral promises a memorable day out for all – dogs included. You'll also find five eateries on the beach, so it's a great spot to sample some fresher-than-fresh Cornish seafood.

Perranporth Beach

Dog-friendly year round.

The award-winning Perranporth Beach is just five miles from our holiday park. Renowned for its five miles of soft, golden sand, the beach feels huge and always dishes up new surprises. Adventurous types can try spot of snorkelling or sailing, while the rest of us can enjoy long, serene walks over the rolling dunes. Divine.

Perranporth has earned a reputation as one of the best dog-friendly beaches in Cornwall. Please note, however, that dogs must be kept on leads from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. between July and August.

Chapel Porth Beach

Dogs are not allowed between Easter and September.

While dogs are only allowed on Chapel Porth Beach during the colder months, that doesn't make it any less inviting. This half-hidden beach promises bracing sea winds and wild, untamed scenery at

all times of the year. It's a treat for history fans, too, with the ruins of the Wheal Coates tin mine standing proud on the cliffs overlooking the beach.

Trevaunance Cove

Dog-friendly year round.

The main beach in the village of St Agnes, Trevaunance Cove is something of a local secret. Here, the glistening turquoise sea swells against high cliffs, creating impressive surf-friendly waves. The beach is popular with families, too – at low tide, rock pools are revealed, and there's a friendly pub and cafe just off the sand.

Dogs are allowed at the cove all year round. However, they must be kept on leads during the summer months.

Porthtowan Beach

Dog-friendly year round.

Porthtowan is one of the most popular beaches on the North Cornwall coast. That's because it has a little bit of everything – wide sands, lively rock pools and lots of hidden caves and corners to explore. The waves are impressive, too. Many adventurer-seekers head to Porthtowan to experience their first surf.

With its beautiful golden sands, Porthtowan is rightly considered one of the most dog-friendly beaches in Cornwall. However, dogs must be kept on leads at certain times of the day. Be sure to check before you set off.

Trevellas Porth Beach

Dog-friendly year round.

Take a 15-minute stroll from Trevaunance Cove and you'll reach Trevellas Porth – a small pebble beach with stunning cliff views and a peaceful, secluded atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to escape the crowds and soak up some truly spectacular scenery.

Trevallas-Porth is dog-friendly at all times. However, the cliffs are very steep, so be sure to keep Pooch on a lead if you're walking the coast path.
